New Haven ---- Ruth Ewaskio, 100, of Westville, died Tuesday, December 28 in her beloved home, where she had lived for eighty years. Daughter of the late Harry Ewaskio Sr and the late Mary Krysa Ewaskio, she was born June 4, 1921 in New Haven, graduated from Hill House High School in 1939, and attended the University of Connecticut. She worked at the former Winchester Company and at Southern Connecticut State University, retiring in 1992. Ruth was an active member of the First Baptist Church of New Haven, Alpha Iota Sorority, New Haven Ski Club and the French Club of Southern Connecticut State University. She leaves six nieces, twelve grandnieces and nephews, and fifteen great-grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Charles A. Ewaskio and Harry Ewaskio Jr and two nephews. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 205 Edwards St. New Haven on June 25, 2022 at 11:00am. The service will be livestreamed on the church's Facebook page, http://facebook.com/firstbaptistnewhaven.
