Obituary

Reverend Robert E Deming died after a short illness on July 11th.  He was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn Evans Deming.  Father of Elizabeth Anne Deming and adopted son Thomas Poirier Jr.  He was predeceased by his son David Andrew Deming.  Brother of Ronald Orson Deming and Henry Albert Deming.  He was born on January 26th 1942 in Warwick RI.  He was the son of the late Edwin Albert Deming and Violet Elizabeth Hendrikson Deming Cilley.  He was ordained by the Episcopal Diocese of RI on June 17th 1967.  He was the rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lancaster NH, The Church of the Good Shepherd in Orange & an affiliate priest of Christ Church New Haven.  Robert was the Chaplin of the Orange fire and police departments for 28 years and received an outstanding service award from the Orange Chamber of Commerce for personal efforts in NYC following 9/11.

His Mass will be held on July 23rd, Christ Church New Haven at 11 in the morning.  Contributions to his memory may be made to Christ Church 84 Broadway New Haven.  Arrangements are with the Hawley Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home 424 Elm St. New Haven.
