William D. Stubbs, 76, a longtime resident of New Haven died Friday, October 7th, at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a long illness. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and educated at the University of Chicago, Boston University, and Yale, Mr. Stubbs worked as a financial analyst In New Haven and in Boston. Always interested in community service, he was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and served as Tour Director for the New Haven Preservation Trust. His interest in Native American history and concerns led him to the weekly publication, for the last fifteen years, of IndianLand , an online magazine about historical and current issues of interest to native peoples. He is survived by his wife Margaret Dunn of New Haven, a daughter Margaret Brown of Mont Vernon New Hampshire, a grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
