Sally Warner O’Such, 90, of Guilford and formerly of Fairfield and Westport, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026.

Sally Jeanne was born in New Haven, Connecticut on May 6th, 1935, the daughter of the late William Alling Warner II and Margaret Fraser (Jenkins). She was the adored wife of the late Robert F. O’Such who predeceased her just three years prior.

Sally was an only child but came from a large and extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Warner’s were a well-established family of hardware dealers and merchants in New Haven, tracing their roots to the founding fathers of Connecticut and her mother’s family were immigrants from Glasgow, Scotland. To no surprise, Sally exhibited the practicality of a Yankee, the warmth and hospitality of a Scot, and the fierce pride and loyalty of both.

Sally grew up the Morris Cove area of New Haven and spent all her summers since childhood in the coastal enclave of Indian Cove in Guilford. It was at a block dance in the neighboring Mulberry Point where she would first meet the love of her life, Bob. That meeting at just 16 years of age would culminate in 67 years of marriage and a love that will endure forever. After graduating from Lasell Junior College and Bob from Brown University, they married and settled in Fairfield to raise their family. They were long-time members of the Fairfield Beach Club and Sally was a volunteer with the Junior League. In retirement, they would permanently remove to Indian Cove, the community they loved so dearly. Sally spent most of those years volunteering at the Hole in the Wall in Guilford Center. Their countless adventures would take them around the world (and to Disney with the grandkids at least a dozen times), but their ultimate respite would always be their annual trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Their close-knit group of friends and the ocean’s call would keep them returning for almost 50 years.

Sally was the matriarch of a large family. To her grandchildren she was “Gram” and to her great-grandchildren she was “Peaches”, a name she reveled in and fit her splendidly. She was a master of the needle, knitting hats and sweaters for every family member and friend – and even won several blue ribbons at the Guilford Fair (which is very competitive). Not your typical kitting grandmother, she wore bright and cheery outfits (which perfectly matched her persona), was always adorned in funky jewelry, and drove a bright red convertible sports car right up until she passed. She was hipper than a millennial yet carried the wit and wisdom of almost a century. Sally found the positive in every person that came into her life. Her friends spanned generations and she had more of them than anyone could count. She was loyal and loving to all – but it was her family whom she cherished most. She will be terribly missed but fondly remembered by all those who ever had the opportunity to be a part of her life and make her a part of theirs.

Sally is survived by her three children, Bruce (Tracy) O’Such, Kimberly O’Such, and Stephanie (Timothy) Taddei all of Fairfield; seven grandchildren, Bruce (Carolyn) Audino of Southport, Alexandra (Michael) von Wahlde of Easton, Marco (Michelle) Taddei of Fairfield, Garrett O’Such of Denver, CO, Dean (Rebecca) Taddei of Lincoln, NE, Chase O’Such of Waitsfield, VT, and James Sheehy of Bridgeport, and nine great-grandchildren; Ella, Lucia, Lily, Ben, Sofia, Trent, Elizabeth, Cody, and Hailey.

There are no planned services. Sally loved parties and we plan to throw one in her honor this summer and will notify friends and family accordingly.

If you would like to remember Sally - consider donating to the Hole in the Wall’s beneficiary (Guilford’s A Better Chance foundation) or your favorite charity, volunteering for your community, or simply grab a seat on the beach with a friend, a loved one, or even a stranger and shoot the breeze.
