Obituary

Rose Trowbridge, age 89 formerly of Woodbridge, CT, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2014 at Hamden Health Care. Born in Waterbury, Rose was the daughter of the late Ethel and William Haines and widow of Ernest E. Trowbridge. Rose is survived by her son Ernest (Donna) Trowbridge, her daughter Rose (Steven) Adams, grandchildren Joseph and Shannon Trowbridge, Jane Ellen Brennan and her sister Leta (Tony) Accurso. She was predeceased by siblings William Haines, Henry Haines, Jean Hill, Mary Elizabeth Hill and Phoebe LeMay. Rose worked many years at Naugatuck Rubber Co., Blue Cross/CMS, United Stock Car (scoring races), Woodbridge Lumber Co. and FRMS Associates. Rose prepared luncheons at the Woodbridge Senior Center for many years and was very active for over 30 years with the Woodbridge Cub Scouts. She will be fondly remembered for her candor, generosity, humor, practical advice and wonderful baking. Rose loved to help others and was an extraordinary inspiration. The family would like to express its sincere appreciation for the exemplary care she received while at Arden Courts and Hamden Health Care of Hamden. She hoped people would remember her with a smile and live life to the fullest as she did.

Per Rose's request there will be no calling hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the best way to honor Rose's memory would be to recall a happy memory, help someone in need or make a donation to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are with the Hawley Lincoln Memorial.
