Robert L. Barger, 92, of North Haven, formerly of New Haven died August 29, 2017. He was the husband of the late Ruth S. Barger. He leaves his children, Linda Oliveira of Rio Rancho, NM, Robert L. Barger Jr. of North Haven and Shirley Gedney-Rubel of Bridgeport and 5 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers James and Eugene and a sister Ruth Huff. He was the owner of Bob's Liquor Store in New Haven and worked at Silliman College Yale University in maintenance. He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran, an avid golfer and Red Sox fan.

Funeral services will be held at the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, 493 Whitney Ave., New Haven on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 10:00am. Burial with military honors will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
