Richard W. Brooks, 62, of Port Charlotte, FL entered eternal rest on December 11, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. The son of Edwin J. Brooks and Ruth D. Brooks, Richard was raised in Guilford, CT. Before moving from Deep River, CT to Florida, he was employed in the family business, Ed's Enterprises, Inc., as an expert bicycle mechanic. Richard was also a skilled stained glass craftsman who worked as an instructor at Vijon Studio in Old Saybrook, CT. Richard was predeceased by his parents and brother Kenneth. He is survived by his brother Alan (Kathy) of Westbrook, CT, sister Judy Cofferen of North Port, FL and numerous nephews and nieces.
