Irene Patricia Pfarre-Duncan, 85, of Madison, passed away November 14, 2014 in Old Saybrook, CT after a short battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.
Patricia (Tricia) was born in Brooklyn, NY to Edgar and Irene (Kreiser) Pfarre on September 26, 1929. She attended Berkeley School for Girls. With her family, she moved to Locust Valley, Long Island and then to Brookfield, CT before moving to Madison, where she lived for over 30 years.
She was a member of the Cappella Cantorum, the Shoreline Chorale and the choir of the First Congregational Church of Guilford. She was a real estate agent along the Shoreline from 1976 until she officially "retired" in 2009 at the age of 80. She loved to spend time in her gardens as well as crafting with whatever material she had. She loved to hook rugs and dyed her own wool. In her other free time, she volunteered at the Ivoryton Playhouse.
She is survived by a son, Eric-Cameron Duncan and his wife Kathy (Doyon), of Old Saybrook and a daughter, Dana Laurent Duncan, of Chester. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Liam, Kelsey and Conor Duncan of Old Saybrook. She is also survived by her brother, Edgar George Pfarre, of Beechwood, New Jersey. She also leaves behind her precious cats, Marby and Coco, whom she loved dearly. Her ex-husband, Cameron Oman Duncan predeceased her.
Calling hours will be held at Hawley Lincoln Funeral Home in Guilford, on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 4 – 7 pm. Funeral service will be held at First Congregational Church of Guilford on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11am.
