Marlene (Lindenau) Colavolpe, 86, passed away at home on July 30, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Colavolpe and son in law Mitchell Brenneis. She was surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren till the end. She was born in New Haven on September 11, 1931, a daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Walkow) Lindenau. Mother of Marlene (Edward) Warsawski of North Haven, Bonnie Paulsen of Wallingford, Edna (Brenneis) Woods of Cheshire, Edward (Louann) Colavolpe of Hamden. Marlene did not have any siblings but she was blessed with many friends that will sadly miss her.
Marlene worked as a Secretary for most of her life in CT, always putting her children first and foremost. She worked at High Precision in Hamden and Marlin Firearms in North Haven for many years. When she moved to Florida with her husband she worked at the Vero Beach Art Museum for many years and loved the beauty of the area. They lived there for 20 years before moving back to CT. She loved her church here in CT Trinity Lutheran in New Haven and in Florida the Living Lord Lutheran. She donated much of her time to functions at these churches. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Women and went to Southbury Home many times with this group. She also loved to go to Camp Calumet in New Hampshire with the Ladies from Trinity. She brought her children into the church activities as well.
She had several hobbies, one of which was photography, where in Florida she got a first prize for a picture she took. She took basket weaving classes and painting classes.
She also loved to go to lunch, bus trips, shows, shopping and she went on a few cruises.
Marlene leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Arrangements are being made from Hawley Lincoln Funeral Home in New Haven. Memorial Service and Celebration of Life with be at Trinity Lutheran Church, 292 Orange Street, New Haven, CT 06510 on Saturday August 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. There is parking across the street. Burial will be private.
