Leonard T. Pecoraro, 77, longtime resident of Guilford passed away after a long illness on February 23, 2015. Born in New Haven on April 9, 1937 he was predeceased by his parents Frank M. and Mary E. Curtin Pecoraro, a brother George F. Pecoraro, Sr. and a sister-in-law Gertrude Vincent Pecoraro. He is survived by his longtime companion Rebecca L. Jefferson (Becky), nephews, George F. Pecoraro, Jr., Richard J. Pecoraro and David L. Pecoraro, a niece Kathleen M. Pecoraro and numerous cousins. Leonard attended St. Michael's School, New Haven, Notre Dame High School, West Haven and graduated from East Haven High School, later attending Southern Connecticut State College. Leonard lived and worked, for many years, at the former Pier 66 Marina in Branford. In the early years, he helped his cousin, the late Armand Williams, build the marina. He worked for many years, as a truck driver, at the former Axton-Cross Chemical Co., North Haven and the US Post Office in New Haven. Leonard loved cats, and had fond memories of the many years that he vacationed in Barbados, West Indies. Rebecca wishes to offer special thanks to their friend, Gail S. Kane, for her kindness and support to Lenny at home and most recently to the staff of Twin Maples Health Care Center, Durham for their outstanding care.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, 1315 Boston Post Rd., Guilford on Tuesday, September 29 from4:00 - 6:00pm with a service at 5:00pm. Burial will be private.
