Joan P. Cianciolo, 86, of Guilford died Sunday, October 28th, at the Hearth @ Gardenside in Branford after a long illness. Joan, daughter of the late Frank and Francesca Arena Cianciolo was born October 8, 1932 in Guilford. She was the sister of Catherine Pegnataro, Rita Buonocore and the late Mary Lazzari, Rose DeMaio, Anna Sullivan, Dorothy Cianciolo, Victoria Cianciolo, Frances Cianciolo, Frank Cianciolo, Pauline Daley, Lucille Pegnataro and Elna Cianciolo. A lifelong resident of Guilford she worked for many years at Yale University in various administrative positions. She was active in the Guilford Garden Club for many years and was past president of the organization. Joan was the youngest of 13 children and had a deeply rooted love of family and community. She was a communicant of St. George Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. George Church on Saturday morning at 11:30. Friends may call at the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, 1315 Boston Post Rd., Guilford one hour prior.
