Obituary

Helen B. Wilson

"A great mother, and an even greater grandmother" is how the children and grandchildren describe their "Grandy", Helen B. Wilson, of Madison, who was suddenly taken away from them on Tuesday morning Feb. 18.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Springfield, MA, daughter of John and Sophie Brusnicki, grew up in Longmeadow, and graduated from the MacDuffie School in Granby, MA, and attended the Green Mountain Junior College in Poultney, VT. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Robert, by her sister, Alice and by her parents. She leaves behind her son, Thomas of Guilford, with fiancée Kathy Leshane, her daughters, Alicia of Cary, NC with her husband, Capt. Rudolph Lupton, US Navy, (Ret.), and Karen of Frisco, TX, with husband Jim McKeon, stepdaughter Susan Primeau, with husband Mark, stepson Robert Wilson, her significant other, Lennart Lonnegren of Madison and 15 grandchildren. The grandchildren were her special love. She had pictures of them throughout her house, and she tried to keep up with their schoolwork and their birthdays, and attended and supported them at many sporting events, from basketball and baseball to football, ice hockey and lacross.

Each grandchild's birthday was a very special event that demanded a personal phone call, and a date missed caused a minor uproar and had to be taken care of before any other activities.

Mrs. Wilson lived in Madison for close to 50 years, and when her husband died she moved to her major Madison love, the water, and bought and rebuilt a house overlooking Seaview Beach, where she had a cabana on the beach and held many parties.

At one time or another she was a member of most Madison organizations, from the Madison Country Club, and the Beach Club, to the Madison Winter Club, where she served on the Board as entertainment chairman, and the Madison Historical Society.
