Grant Eric Nelson of Woodbridge CT and Marco Island FL passed away at his home on Marco,

March 24, 2016 after a brief illness.

Grant was born May 16, 1922 in New Haven CT. He attended Worcester Academy in Worcester MA

and Colgate University, class of 1941. First a U.S. Marine, Grant went on to join the Navy and was the

commanding officer of the USS Strength, a minesweeper in WWII. He married his wife, Joyce Enid

Davidson (predeceased) October 26, 1947. He was President of Perrigo Inc. before he retired

to spend time in Marco Island.

Grant is survived by his daughter Karen and her husband, Charles Clark; grandchildren Kristin Haas

and her husband Mike of Woodbridge CT; Chas Clark and his wife, Carla Brillembourg of Manhattan;

and four great grandchildren: Eric Nelson Haas, Katharine Grace Haas, Lucas Elias Clark and Mateo

Alexander Clark. He also leaves behind a special friend, Lois Marx of Cleveland OH and Marco Island

and his wonderful caregiver, Julia Morrison.
