Elaine Church Raymond, 90 of Cheshire, formerly of Orange died October 1, 2015. She was born in Shorelands, Old Greenwich on April 12, 1925 to Capt. Harold C. Raymond and Georgianna Church Raymond. She graduated from Stamford High School and earned her Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing. She received her Master's degree from New York University. After graduation from Uconn she became an Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut's School of Nursing for 18 years. In 1969 she was asked to establish a school of nursing at Southern Connecticut State University and was appointed Dean of the program. She retired from the university in December of 1982. After this she travelled extensively around the world. She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Deborah Kearns and Mrs. Rodney Metxler, a grand nephew Christopher Kearns and a grand niece Brittany Kearns.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00am at the Orange Center Cemetery, Orange. Friends may call at the Hawley Lincoln Memorial, 493 Whitney Ave., New Haven Sunday from 4-6pm.
