Obituary

Edward A.K. Thomson, 83 of Bradenton, FL died Dec. 6, 2016. He was born in New Haven Nov. 22, 1933 son of the late Edward and Lena Knodel Thomson. He graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1951, Southern CT State College and received his master's degree from the University of Hawaii. He also studied in Salzburg, Austria and at the Yale Summer Language Institute. Mr. Thomson taught at the West Haven High School before moving to Hawaii where he taught in Honolulu for 14 years. He subsequently taught at the Dept. of Defense Dependents Schools in Italy and England. During his retirement he taught part-time at the Manatee Community college in Bradenton. He was a member of the Harry Truman Masonic Lodge #649. He leaves a sister Maryanne Schulz (Stephen), a niece Megan Schulz (Rory Torrey), a brother-in-law Arnold J. Belfonti, Sr., a nephew Arnold Belfonti Jr. (Tricia) and great nieces Madeline and Olivia Belfonti. He was predeceased by a sister Jean Belfonti.
