The Rev. Edward F. Dobihal, Jr., 87, of Hamden died May 30, 2015. He was the husband of Shirley V. Dobihal for 67 years. He was born June 5, 1927 in Baltimore and received a doctorate from Drew University in 1965. He was a visionary which allowed him to look at his world and start projects that other's couldn't see or believed could not be done. He founded Yale New Haven Hospital's Religious Ministries Department, now called Spiritual Care, as well as America's first Hospice. In addition to his wife he leaves 4 children, Kirk and his wife Ellen, Donna and her husband Andy, Carol and her husband Carl and Scott and his wife Cori, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the First and Summerfield United Methodist Church, New Haven June 20 at 2:00pm.
