Guilford- Annette Richard Daviau passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 10, 2023. Annette was born on September 24, 1931 in Saint-Thomas de Joliette, Quebec, daughter of Frank Richard and Juliette Fafard. She was the third of five children, Lucille (Arthur), Carmen (Harry), Gilles (Molly) and Norma (Henry), with Norma being the only surviving sibling.
She is predeceased by her husband, Alfred Stacker Daviau, sisters Lucille and Carmen, brother Gilles, granddaughters Vanessa and Olivia, son-in-law, Vincent, daughter-in-law, Kerrie, and niece, Cathy.
She is survived by her nine children, Alfred Jr. (Alsu), Suzanne (Steve), Mark, John (Karen), Mary (Brad), Michael, Joan, Richard (Amy) and Jennifer (Ciaran). She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren and her four great-grandchildren.
Annette met her husband, Al, at Holyoke High School in Massachusetts and then she went on to Nursing School. They married and over the next several years lived in a few states before settling in Connecticut. Annette had a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse, as well as being a devoted full-time mother of nine.
Annette was an avid reader, accomplished seamstress and a talented musician. Annette was fortunate to travel around the world and enjoyed learning about many cultures.
After the passing of her husband in 1995, she became a third order Dominican where she devoted much of her time to the Our Lady of Grace Monastery in North Guilford.
Annette will be always be remembered for the love and generosity that she gave to her family and friends, and also her devout faith and her strong Christian charity.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Annette's family for a viewing, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the St George Catholic Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, CT 06437. The Funeral services will be immediately following the wake at 11: a.m. A Christian burial will be held at St. George's Cemetery in Guilford immediately following the funeral Mass.
